It has been a tremendous pride for Kaptiva Sports to carry out the first training clinic in Lisbon with Benfica, from the 7th of June until the 14th. Without a doubt, a unique experience in the Portuguese capital that will be a pleasure to repeat.

Moreover, the feedback from the families has been very positive. It has been a real pleasure to have enjoyed some spectacular days with the players and their families. All of this, surrounded by the presence of a club that makes us love this sport more and more every day.

Training sessions at the Benfica Campus

Boys and girls had the opportunity to train at Benfica’s own facilities. We are talking about the Benfica Campus, the place where the coaches and youngsters of the club’s academy train.

As we said, they were accompanied by official coaches throughout the day. In total, there were seven sessions, spread over several days, morning and afternoon. Enough time for the players to get to know each other and become friends from the very first day.

During the last session, on the 13th of June, parents were able to attend as usual to watch the training. In this way, they were able to witness Benfica’s methodology used with the same professional players.

Cultural activities in and around Lisbon

As in other training clinics, as you have read about in the Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Real Madrid Foundation training clinics, cultural activities took place. Some of them were aimed at everyone, while others were only for the relatives, as they took place during the training sessions.

On Sunday 8th, the families started with a tour of the Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica, followed by a walking city tour of the Portuguese capital in the afternoon. As if that wasn’t enough, the following day there was the extra activity of a boat cruise on the Tagus.

On the 10th, the relatives enjoyed a day trip to Sintra and Cascais. The next day, they were welcomed by the Jerónimos Monastery, the Belem Tower and the Museu dos Coches. That was not all, as on the 12th they made another excursion to Fátima, Nazaré and Óbidos.

Finally, after the parents’ visit to the training session, the closing ceremony was held at the club’s stadium.

It was a real pleasure to share these days together, surrounded by Portuguese culture. This first training clinic in Lisbon with Benfica was a success, and we look forward to seeing you next year. See you soon!
